Cape Sports Center
The Cape Windsurf Center is found on the shores of the huge Langebaan lagoon. It is one hours drive north of Cape Town on the west coast of South Africa.
The Turkish blue water of the 20km long X 1,5km wide lagoon offers exceptional flat water to bump and jump, freestyle, slalom conditions for kites and windsurfing.
The wind direction in summer is side shore and the wind statistics show that from October to March we have 20 – 25 days wind over 4 Bft per month. From November through to February one can expect some days of up to 7Bft.
We do International Kiteboarding Organisation accredited kitesurfing courses, from beginner to intermediate, which are very thorough and entail 10 hours of lessons per course. This is all done on the flat waters of the lagoon so is very safe and non intimidating. We also do windsurf lessons from beginner up on easy to use boards and sails making it a lot easier to learn than a few years ago.
